Common questions

Are my numbers sent to you?

Calculations run on your iPhone. The app does not automatically send us your inputs, results or saved scenarios. If you email support or share a report, you choose what to send.

How do I save several comparisons?

On a results screen, choose Save scenario and enter a name. You can find saved comparisons in Saved scenarios on Home. Names must contain 1 to 60 characters and be different from other scenario names within the same decision tool; changing capitalization alone does not create a different name.

How do I edit a saved scenario?

Open it from Saved scenarios, choose Open scenario, then Edit inputs. After comparing again, choose Update saved scenario to replace that scenario's saved inputs, or Save a copy to keep a separate named version. Editing alone does not overwrite the saved version.

Will my scenarios sync or come back on another phone?

The app does not offer cloud synchronization, and saved scenarios are marked for exclusion from backups. Do not rely on a device backup to restore them. We cannot recover them remotely. You can export a PDF for your own records, but a PDF cannot be imported as an editable scenario.

Why have my unsaved inputs disappeared?

Unsaved inputs are held in memory and can be lost when iOS ends the app's process. Save a named scenario if you want to reopen its inputs later.

Why can a reopened scenario show a different result?

Saved scenarios store inputs, not frozen results. Reopening calculates results with the current app version. Calculation changes in an app update can therefore change the result even when the saved inputs remain the same. Check the report date and assumptions when comparing exported reports.

Why did the currency change in another tool?

Display currency is shared across the tools. Opening a saved scenario can restore its saved currency for all tools. This changes the displayed currency, not the numeric inputs, and does not convert amounts using exchange rates.

How do I delete a scenario or all local app data?

Open the saved scenario's summary, open its options menu and choose Delete scenario, then confirm. An already-open working copy keeps its inputs in memory. Resetting inputs does not delete saved scenarios.

To remove the app and its local data, use iOS Delete App. Removing only the Home Screen icon or offloading the app is different. Reports you saved to Files, messages or another service must be deleted there separately.

How do I save or share a PDF?

On a results screen, choose Share report. Use the iOS share sheet to choose a destination, such as Files or a messaging app. A report includes financial inputs and assumptions, so check its contents and destination before sharing it. Sharing a report does not save an editable scenario.

A report could not be created. What should I try?

Return to the results screen and try Share report again. If the problem continues, contact support with the decision tool, app/iOS version and the steps that led to the message. You do not need to send real financial numbers.

The app says saved scenarios cannot be read. Should I reinstall it?

Avoid deleting or reinstalling the app while investigating: that can remove your saved scenarios. If Try loading again is available, try it after returning to the app with your iPhone unlocked. If the message says a newer app version is needed, check for an update. Contact support with the exact message and app version. We do not hold a server copy of your scenarios.

Is this financial advice?

No. The app provides educational comparisons based on the inputs and assumptions you enter. Results are estimates, not guarantees or personal financial advice. Support can help you use the app or report a problem; it cannot tell you which financial option to choose.

Why can Pay down mortgage still show money invested each month?

Pay down mortgage uses part or all of the available lump sum to reduce the debt. With Lower my monthly payment, the freed payment difference is invested. With Pay off sooner, monthly investing generally starts when the loan is paid off. For adjustable-rate projections, all options use the payment without extra repayment as their shared budget in each rate period. A higher assumed rate can therefore mean a higher monthly budget and a larger payment difference invested. The later rate is your assumption; the app models one change, not every contractual reset.

What happens to temporary report files?

The app attempts to remove its temporary report after sharing finishes or is cancelled, and checks for interrupted-share files at the next launch. Files you explicitly save or send elsewhere are separate copies; delete them through their destination if needed. Immediate deletion is not guaranteed, and older temporary files remain subject to iOS cleanup.
